THE URBAN WASH ALLIANCE:
The urban wash alliance is a unique joint initiative with TERI University as the knowledge partner, TERI as the research partner, USAID as the donor agency, and Coca-Cola as the private/ corporate partner. The forging of this initiative is rooted in the deep commitment of the partner organizations in strengthening urban water, sanitation and hygiene sector through skill development, community-based solutions, innovation and combining local actions with global ers ectives. Wash - water, sanitation and hygine lectures were divided into three categories
WATER-
- SCADA/ICT tools for water/sanitation treatment in urban settings
- Third pole and its water resources
- Developing water resources through rainwater harvesting
- Chatlenges and opportunites in the urban water sector
- GIS applications on ground water exploration in urban settings
- Non-revenue water-challenges in water loss reduction
- River bank filtration - measures for providing clean water supply
SANITATION-
- Swachh Bharat Mission and enterpreneurship opportunites for youth
- Challenges in the sanitation sector- the way forward
- Decentralized waste water treatment and Swachh Bharat Mission
- Challenges that women face in urban slums in water and sanitation sectors
- Community engagement and capacity building
HEALTH AND HYGIENE
- Child friendly urban settings-focus on informal settlements
- Effects of poor sanitation on health in rural settlements in India
- Water and its impact on health and economy
